OnceEver is made by one person. Write to support@onceever.app and you will get a reply — usually within two working days, and always within five.
What to include
None of this is required, but each one saves a round trip:
- the email address your account uses
- what you were doing, and what happened instead
- the device and iOS version, or the browser
- a screenshot, if there was something to see
Please do not send passwords. Nobody here will ever ask you for one.
Common questions
- I never got the confirmation email. Check the spam folder first — it usually landed there. If it did not arrive at all, try signing up again after a few minutes, or use Sign in with Apple, which needs no confirmation. If neither works, write and the account will be confirmed by hand.
- I forgot my password. Choose Forgot your password? on the sign-in screen. The link that arrives can be used once and expires, so if you come back to an old email, ask for a new one.
- My session was not accepted. Sign out and back in. If it keeps happening, say so in an email — it means something on the server side, not on yours.
- I want to stop the reminders. Settings, then Reminders, then turn them off. That also removes the notification token for that device. Turning off notifications for OnceEver in iOS Settings does the same to the delivery, though the token stays until you switch them off in the app.
- I want my account and everything in it gone. Settings, then Delete my account, then confirm in the box that opens — the confirmation has its own button, and a dismissed box sends nothing. It is immediate and cannot be undone. What it removes, and the one anonymous line it leaves, are described in the privacy policy.
- Dictation does nothing. It needs permission for the microphone and for speech recognition, both asked for the first time you use it; if either was declined, iOS Settings for OnceEver is where to grant it. It also needs a recogniser for the language you are speaking — installing that language’s keyboard or dictation in iOS Settings is what puts one there, and it is what lets long recordings be transcribed on the device rather than through Apple’s service.
- A meaning or a correction is wrong. There is a flag on every card for exactly this. It is read. Language models are confidently wrong sometimes, and the flags are how that gets found.
What the app needs
- iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 18 or later
- an internet connection — cards are built and kept on the server
- one of nine languages to learn and to read explanations in: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified) and Chinese (Traditional)
The app is free. There is nothing to buy inside it, and no subscription.
Your data
What is collected, who else handles it and how to have it erased are all in the privacy policy. Requests under the GDPR go to the same address as everything else: support@onceever.app.
